CONSTRUCTION OF HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY – TAFALLA - ADIF

Characteristics:
The work consists of building the embankment for the stretch of the Zaragoza-Pamplona high-speed line that passes through Tafalla (Navarra).
The construction of the 7.1 km long railway infrastructure involves earth movement of more than 1.2 million m3 for deforestation and 1 million m3 for the embankment.
The layout of the project implies the execution of a 550m long mine tunnel under the Navarra Canal, a key hydraulic infrastructure in the Community.
The works involve the construction of an overpass, three viaducts, an underpass and 22 cross drainage works as main structures. Likewise, it is necessary to replace the existing irrigation networks that supply water to 30,000 hectares of the Ribera de Navarra, 4 electrical networks owned by Iberdrola, 2 electrical networks of private owners, 2 electrical networks of Red Eléctrica Española, a telephone network, a gas pipeline, and an oil pipeline.
