REPLACEMENT OF TWO METAL BRIDGES IN SOLLEFTEÅ, SWEDEN

Location: Sollefteå (Sweden)
Client: Trafikverket
Budget: 113 083 000 kr (≈12Mill €)
Construction Period: Nov21-Dec2022

Characteristics:
The contract consists of the disassembly and demolition of two metallic bridges from the 1920s and the construction of two new metallic bridges in the same location and using the same existing piers and abutments.
The Rörströmsälven bridge has three spans of 16+16+45 meters and the Fjällsjöälven bridge, has three spans of 38+55+38 meters. Rover is in charge of both, the project and the execution of these bridges. The contract is highly complex, due to the short period of time to be able to carry out the work, given that there are only 5 months of track closure in which the existing bridges must be dismantled and the new ones assembled.
The new bridges are assembled on one of the sides of the rivers to later push them to the final location.
